Position Summary:
The retail associate will report directly
to the General Manager. This role involves a variety of responsibilities,
including customer service, sales, handling cash and other forms of payment, assisting the manager in projects and maintaining store standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service: Provide outstanding customer service, greeting customers, assisting shoppers with product selection, answering questions, and ensuring a positive in-store experience. Requires working with a cash register and POS system. Also fulfills online sales orders.
Sales & Brand Knowledge: Become well-versed in Townsend Mercantile Co.’s unique product offerings to guide customers through the buying process and offer personalized recommendations.
Store Maintenance: Ensure the store remains clean, organized, and welcoming for customers. Daily and weekly cleaning checklist must be completed. Includes performing general upkeep as needed.
Cleaning:
This task includes cleaning bathrooms, windows, taking out trash, breaking down boxes, washing windows, tidying kitchen, vacuuming, mopping, dusting,
taking care of cobwebs, wiping down Polywood furniture.
Restock:
Making sure that all clothing sizes are out and available for shoppers. Ensuring that product presentation is also up to standards, shirts are folded correctly and items in the correct place. Restock supplies such as receipt paper, shopping bags and price tag labels when needed.
Requirements:
Schedule Flexibility: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required.
Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with customers, team members, and management.
Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for handling inventory and maintaining a clean and attractive store environment.
Passion for Retail: Eagerness to learn about Townsend Mercantile Co.’s brand, mission, and products and communicate these effectively to customers.
